Jayson Kareem Alston Otts 2023 Scholarship Recipient
The Henderson Institute Alumni Association is proud to announce that Jayson Kareem Alston Otts is the 2023 recipient of the Henderson Institute-Robert Bogan Scholarship. The son of Niki Alston, he is a graduate of Vance County Early College High. He will be attending North Carolina A&T State University and plans to major in Business Administration Management.
Jayson was a member of the Beta Club. He received the 2021 National 7 on 7 Challenge Championship, 2022 Outstanding Academic Achievement Vance County Board of Education and 2022 Biology Certificate. His extra-curricular activities included the Vance County Schools Athletic Programs Middle and High School Football, Basketball and the Track Team and his community service activities were delivering and sharing food with family and friends.
Established in 2007, the Robert Bogan Scholarship is awarded annually to students who have a positive attitude and are highly motivated to make a difference in their community while striving for success in their personal lives.
Jayson will receive a $1,000.00 -recurring scholarship for four years if he maintains a 2.5 grade point average or higher, for a total of $4,000.00. The money is to be used for tuition or other university expenses.
